Retrock Deluxe, and Retrock Vintage, are a couple of my favourite shops in Budapest. Deluxe sells more expensive one off pieces and Vintage is a bit more laidback cool. Think of eighties flashback style mixed in with some one off vintage tees, dresses and jumpers. There were lots of items in both shops that I liked, but my hand baggage suitcase did not allow room for them all! In the end I came away with a tshirt from Retrock vintage, with a fox in a bow tie on the front of it. There was a black silk playsuit I had my eye on, but found myself not quite being able to justify the 90 pound pricetag. Definitely worth a look around if your passing, even if just for the decor.

BEHIND CLOSED DOORS
This may seem like an odd thing to post about, but I have a slight new obsession with the european style of doors. The majority of them have aged and decorative features that I find really interesting. Some of the cities doors have such intricate metalwork and vibrant colours, that they make you feel that you are walking through a city of palaces.
One of my new secret aims in life: To have a house, however big or small, with decorative double doors.

HUNGARIAN RHAPSODY
Apologies for the lack of posts recently..I have been in Budapest for a while, armed with my new camera and plenty of amazing things to photograph. I am going to be doing a series of posts on my Budapest adventures. The Hungarian culture is so different from ours, I find it a really inspiring place to be.
The faded decadence, the crumbling architecture and sun bleached colours as well as the sheer history of the city are really fascinating. I hope I can show you why I managed to take over a 1000 photos during my stay. Definitely go if you have the chance. The language is extremely complicated, but nearly everyone speaks english, there is a thriving arts scene, copious amounts of films being filmed there, bars situated in ruins and the most colourful markets, there is no excuse not to go! Especially with flights for less than ninety pounds both ways.
