My vintage loving housemate and friend, Sophie, from the wedding inspired blog, Silverneers, has come up with such a fab idea for a mother's day or birthday/christmas/extravagant easter present. She collected various vintage plates from charity shops and used a ceramic marker and different types of fonts to write sweet messages onto the plates. I think she obtained her marker from hobbycraft for a small amount. Im sure you could buy one off amazon or ebay too.
